This stuff is not from Fiordland. It's a dead, bleached skeleton of the coral Oculina virgosa from the Three Kings Islands.

I include this photo here because the white coral from Fiordland looks very similar in form to this stuff.

This area offers some amazing diving including the legendary "The Gut".
