Reotahi, Whangarei harbour

Reotahi, Whangarei Harbour looking across the harbour channel to the Marsden Point oil refinery. The flare from the stack
is apparently unusually large. Kent and I swam across the channel and did a 70 minute long dive at the island. By the end of the
dive the current was unmanageably strong but we managed to make the swim back across the channel without being swept out to sea.

This was the first major outing for my new Nikon D90. Click on image for full resolution (4288 x 2848 pixel) 6 MB image,
unedited, straight from camera. All photos taken with Nikon 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5 AF-S DX lens.
